Cooking with Steven is an entirely Williams produced Chinese cooking program for college students by college students. We show you how to make economical, healthy and authentic Chinese dishes that you can easily prepare in your dorm kitchens.

Currently searching for production assistants to help grow the project. If interested, please contact Steven Cheng: 10spc [at] williams [dot] edu

You will learn what it takes to create a short, semi-professional TV program. Job may include: camera and sound work, post-production editing, and discussing cooking ideas with the team.

You must be available for the entire stretch between 8.00 a.m. and 9 p.m. on either February 19th or 20th (Winter Carnival). It includes filming on set at an Asian market in Albany, NY.

Compensation: Food, cooking and filming experience.

Charlie’s Angels at Nursing Home

As a part of our community outreach effort, we screened an episode of Charlie’s Angels at Williamstown Commons, a nursing home especially for Alzheimer’s patients.

On Sunday Jan 31, five volunteers from Purple Valley Films visited the activities room of the nursing home. About a dozen residents in wheel chairs attended the event. The screening kicked off with Helen Cha’s violin solo, followed by the 50-minute episode. The session concluded with our volunteers chatting with each member of the audience, talking about their daily lives and getting feedback about the screening. Most residents expressed interest in future screenings.

As a Williams After Dark event, we organized a cookie baking and lollipop making night at Whitman’s bake shop in Paresky Dining Hall. Around 100 people turned up during the 3 hour event. Here are some of the photographs.

Production assistant needed for a professional film shoot with a California-based filmmaker, Steve Fagin, along with Prof. Omar Sangare and Prof. Berta Jottar.

Great for your resume. Must be above 21, have driver’s license, be willing to do small tasks quickly and efficiently, like picking up people at Albany’s Train Station, equipment management, xeroxing, props and costumes organization, etc. Filming schedule Jan 20-23.

In this Williams After Dark event, there will be a variety of different cookies that people can bake: sugar cookies (we bought cow cookie cutters), chocolate chip cookies, white chocolate macademia nut, oatmeal cookies, and variations between any of those. Stay tuned!
